Current writing is focused on speculative fiction and poetry. He is a member of the Arts and Letters Club of Toronto, The Writers and Editors Network, The Ontario Poetry Society, life member of the Canadian Authors Association and life member of the Toronto Musician's Association. Poet Evelyn Catherine Yeats described Richard I. Thorman's style as reflecting "Celtic voice, Saxon Lieder and Miles Davis."
