Nicholas Blundell's Diary is well known to Lancashire historians. In this book, first published in 1952, Margaret Blundell uses the diary to create a detailed reconstruction of Nicholas' life and that of his family, with help from his Letter Book, Tenant Records, and Disbursement Book. It adds up to a charming and readable account of the life and preoccupations of a Catholic squire in 18th century Lancashire.
