Before turning to writing full time in 1980 he taught kindergarten for six years, primarily for the Toronto School Board. he also has theatrical background. Ms Krykorka has illustrated more than 25 books from her Toronto studio. She has won the Ruth Schwartz Award and was listed on the Aesop Accolade list. She was also awarded the silver medal of the Mr. Christie Book Award twice.
